Virtual Support Groups
Virtual Support Groups, also known as, Online Support Groups or Telehealth Support Groups, are an effective and supportive tool for many people. Kessinger Counseling Group is currently offering support groups for adults 18 and up. See below for out current virtual groups.
Group 1: Adult Daughters of Narcissistic Mothers
This support group is for a very specific population of people. This support group is for adult women that have narcissistic moms or narcissistic stepmoms. This is a virtual support group in Texas. This online support group is intended as a place for healing, a place to talk about what you are going through, and a place to give and get support. All sessions are confidential, and there is a maximum of 8 members per group. This has a closed format style - meaning no new members once the group has started.
Starting Date: August 3, 2026
Length: 4 weeks
Format: Zoom
Session Length: 90 minutes (1.5 hours)
Cost: $75 per session
(Payment due at the beginning of each session. 10% discount if paying for the full 4 weeks.)
Days: Monday or Tuesday evenings. Groups will be scheduled based on participant interest.
Virtual Support Group Facilitated by: Shelly Kessinger, LPC
All group members must reside in Texas. Some group members may be located in Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas or surrounding areas in Texas. Virtual group members must be located in Texas during the support group.
Anyone that has a narcissistic mother knows there is a certain kind of pain it holds. It affects you; it shapes you. Initial consultations will be done over the phone (15 minutes) . Growing up with a narcissistic mother can leave deep emotional wounds that often continue into adulthood for their daughters.
Our support group is a safe, compassionate space where adult women can heal from the impact of emotionally immature moms and stepmoms.
Many support group participants have felt in the past or feel in the present:
- Chronic self-doubt or fear of criticism
- Feeling responsible for other people’s emotions
- Difficulty saying “no” or setting boundaries
- Anxiety, depression, or emotional exhaustion
- Struggles with identity and self-worth
- Perfectionism or people-pleasing tendencies
- Grief or sadness over the mother-daughter relationship they never had
- Feeling unseen, invalidated, or emotionally manipulated
Virtual Support Group Counseling provides:
- A supportive, judgment-free environment
- Psychoeducation about narcissistic moms or stepmoms
- Tools for healthy boundaries and emotional regulation
- Guided discussions and shared experiences
- Opportunities for connection, validation, and healing
- Practical coping skills for everyday life
(Participants are never pressured to share more than they feel comfortable sharing.)
This group may be a good fit for adult women who:
- Were raised by emotionally immature or narcissistic mothers
- Want support from others with similar experiences
- Are working on healing childhood wounds
- Desire healthy relationships and strong boundaries
- Feel ready to grow in self-compassion and confidence
