Christian Counseling

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

-John 3:16

Kessinger Counseling Group offers Christian Counseling for those individuals that want to incorporate their Christian faith into their sessions.

Christian Counseling is a safe place for you to:

  • talk about your marriage from a Christian perspective
  • discuss prayer
  • understand your spiritual journey
  • incorporate your quiet time experiences into the conversation in sessions
  • bring up Jesus into conversation
  • bring up spiritual struggles in conversation
  • check in with your relationship with Jesus
  • discuss spiritual weaknesses

Christian Counseling is not:

  • counseling from a pastor or reverend (pastoral counseling)
  • expertise in Biblical reference
  • affiliated with a church
  • a hidden way to convert you or anyone to Christianity

We only incorporate Christianity at the request of the client. Please let your therapist know your preferences about faith being added to your sessions.

Christian counseling integrates professional clinical care with the wisdom and values of the Christian faith. For many individuals and couples, faith is an important part of how they understand life, relationships, and healing. Christian counseling provides a space where emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns can be addressed together in a supportive and respectful environment.

In Christian counseling, we approach therapy through both sound psychological principles and a faith-centered perspective. Sessions may incorporate prayer, biblical principles, and discussions about how faith shapes your experiences, decisions, and relationships—when that is meaningful and desired by the client. Our goal is to help clients experience growth that supports both emotional health and spiritual well-being.

People often seek Christian counseling when they want their faith to be part of the healing process. This can include working through anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, trauma, or questions about purpose and identity. Counseling can help you process difficult experiences while reconnecting with hope, meaning, and the values that guide your life.

Christian counseling is not about judgment or having all the answers. It is about creating a safe place to be honest about struggles, ask important questions, and grow in both emotional and spiritual maturity. Many clients find that integrating their faith into the counseling process brings deeper clarity, encouragement, and strength.

Whether you are seeking support individually, as a couple, or as a family, Christian counseling offers compassionate care that honors both your mental health and your faith. Our approach is warm, respectful, and grounded in the belief that healing, growth, and restoration are possible.
